Webinar: How patient communities want to interact with Pharma

24 August 2023
Janelle Bowden, Simon Fifer, Gabrielle Bietola, Jessica Bean & Ann Single discuss how patient communities want to interact with companies.

Most pharmaceutical companies have introduced strategies to increase their patient-centricity through patient engagement, but there is little literature to indicate how patient communities want to interact with companies.

Patient Voice Initiative and Community and Patient Preference Research (CaPPRe) undertook focus groups to identify the domains of interaction that matter to patient communities. Then we collected data using two Best Worst Scaling (BWS) tasks to create an engagement index score which represented the patient community members (including patient organisations, online patient communities and patient advocates) satisfaction towards important engagement aspects with the biopharmaceutical industry.

A sample of 74 patient community members completed the BWS task via an online survey between July – October 2022, including reasons for dissatisfaction and suggestions for improvement in engagement areas with low satisfaction.

Join us as we discuss the findings of our recent research with CaPPRe survey, as well as the implications of the results, including potential approaches to improving domains of low satisfaction and high importance.
